Welcome — I’m Luke Lecher, a theatre leader and seasoned arts administrator, passionate about creating inclusive, high-quality theatre experiences for young audiences & families.

As the Executive Artistic Director of Indianapolis Children’s Theatre, we founded and launched a mission-driven organization from the ground up — shaping its artistic vision, strategic direction, and long-term sustainability. From directing inaugural productions and commissioning new works to building community partnerships and education programs, our focus is expanding access to the arts and empowering the next generation of artists.

Executive Artistic Director | Indianapolis Children’s Theatre

March 2026 – Present

Founded and launched a mission-driven children’s theatre organization, shaping its artistic vision, strategy, and operations from the ground up. Led multi-year planning to align programming, education, and financial sustainability, while curating and directing an inaugural season for ages 3–6 that emphasized diverse storytelling and inclusive casting. Commissioned and developed original works and stage adaptations of children’s literature.

Lead parent and family communications for classes, lessons, and productions to ensure clarity and engagement. Oversee enrollment, data management, demographic reporting, and CRM systems (Sawyer) to support strategic goals, and manage sponsorship and donor relationships, fulfilling benefits while collaborating on marketing and development efforts.

Designed marketing materials, led publicity campaigns, and developed multi-platform audience engagement strategies to increase visibility and attendance. Managed social media content, audience data, subscriptions, and CRM systems to support targeted outreach, and served as Front-of-House Manager, overseeing performance operations and patron experience.

Produced and directed annual theatre productions, managing all aspects from casting and rehearsals to technical execution and performance. Oversaw marketing, publicity, and logistics to drive audience engagement, led workshops to develop students’ performance and audition skills, and designed sets while fostering a hands-on, collaborative learning environment.

Founded and led a theatre company, defining its artistic mission and programming. Wrote, directed, and produced children’s theatre, holiday productions, and nonprofit fundraisers, while managing budgeting, casting, marketing, and community outreach to expand audience reach and impact.
